Welcome to our guide of below the belt piercings part one. In this section we will be going over names and jewelry for people that have or are wanting penis or scrotum piercings. Whether you are out gathering knowledge or just need a little help finding jewelry, let us be your stepping stone to the world of genital piercings.
Our first nugget of wisdom is all genital piercings are anatomically dependent and all jewelry lengths/diameters must fit your erect size. Having a pair of calipers will be handy if you don’t know your size.
An Ampallang piercing is done horizontally through the entire length of the glans (head) of the penis. Depending on your anatomy/preference the piercing can either be trans-urethral which means it passes through the urethra or it can be placed above the urethra toward the corona.
Exclusively straight barbells are worn and the initial gauge can range from 14g to 10g. However, there are many people that stretch past 10g.
An Apadravya piercing is similar to Ampallang. However, it is placed vertically through the glans, and does go through the urethra. You can have both Ampallang and an Apadravya at the same time and that is called an iron cross. Due to the placement of the piercing, the Apadravya can be converted into a Prince Albert or a Reverse Prince Albert without being pierced again. You just replace the straight barbell with a curve barbell.
Majority of the time straight barbells are worn and the initial gauge can range from 12g to 10g. Apadravya piercings are easy to stretch after being fully healed and many people go past 10g.
A Dydoe piercing is located on the rim of the corona. People that want this piercing must have a pronounced ridge at the rim of the glans, otherwise you risk migration or tearing. Due to the placement of the piercing, this is considered one of the most painful to receive.
Exclusively curved barbells are worn and the initial gauge is usually 14g.
A Foreskin piercing is one of the few piercing named after where it is located. Due to the elasticity of the area, bearers can choose to have one of multiple foreskin piercings. When the skin is retracted back, it will be in the same area as a Frenum piercing.
With this piercing, a wide variety of jewelry can be worn! Straight barbells, curved barbells, captive bead rings and even circular barbells. Most commonly worn are captives and circular barbells. The initial gauge of the jewelry is usually either 12g or 10g.
The Frenum piercing is located on the underside of the shaft of the penis. Frenum is a shortened term for Frenulum, which is the anatomical term for that area. This piercing is the second most popular male genital piercing, while Prince Albert being number one.
The most common jewelry worn in a Frenum is straight barbell, but some people prefer a captive bead ring. For rings, they are worn around the shaft, but can be cumbersome when flaccid. The initial gauge is the same as Foreskin being 12g or 10g.
The Guiche Piercing is located between the scrotum and anus, and is usually pierced horizontally. Pronounced "geesh", this piercing is only stimulating for the wearer and you must have ample space there to be able to get this piercing. To change the jewelry you either need to be flexible or have a friend help you out.
The most common jewelry worn in this piercing is a captive ring, but if you are want a flusher style you can wear a curve barbell. The initial gauge is the 12g to 10g, but just like most piercings, the Guiche can be stretched larger.
The Prince Albert is pierced on the underside of the penis where the head meets the shaft. The jewelry is worn through the urethra and then out the pierced hole. A Prince Albert is considered the most common genital piercing for people who have penises and some may argue that it is the least painful of the genital piercings, comparing it to the same pain as a basic earlobe piercing.
Several styles of jewelry can be worn, such as curved barbells, circular barbells and captive bead rings. The initial gauge is usually 12g to 10g, however, over time it is very common for this piericng to stretch naturally. Many people stretch this piercing from 6g to 2g.
The Scrotum piercing is another piercing named after where it is located on the body. There is no set placement when it comes to scrotum piercings. It can be whatever your heart desires. Pretty much, if you can pinch it, you can pierce it. Some people like to go straight down the center, while others like them on the side. You can do one or you can do a dozen, just not all at once.
When it comes to jewelry, you have a few options to pick from like curved barbells, circular barbells and captive bead rings. The initial gauge is usually 12g to 10g, but the world is your oyster. Once healed you are able to stretch this piercing to a larger gauge.
