This beautiful pair of black ammonite weights are reversible for wearing. One side features the inner nautical pattern of the ammonite, while the other side is the polished outer shell with a center rainbow obsidian cabochon.

The below measurements are approximate:

  • Each piece measures 4-1/2" tall and one weighs 42.3 grams while the other weighs 45.7 grams
  • The ammonite fossils measure 63 tall by 50mm wide
  • The rainbow obsidian cabochon measures 8mm in diameter
  • The coils and hardware are made with oxidized sterling silver

Jewelry is measured through a gauge system (see chart below). The higher the gauge number the smaller the wire is. A standard "earring" is usually 20 gauge. Jewelry gauges/sizes can vary between manufacturers. There is no universal regulation on companies to make a standard size in body jewelry. A big part of this is that some jewelry is made overseas and measured in millimeters. And in the USA jewelry is measured in inches/gauges. So many times jewelry can be anywhere from .5mm to 1mm different.
