Exactly as expected. Which is a good thing for a product like this. Gold appeared just as shiny and the same tone as in the image. The flares werent too large on either side.

As other people have stated, these eyelets are laughably long, probably twice the wearable length need. That being said, they are VERY pretty, and with long hair and/or depending on the angle of your ears it shouldn't be super noticable if they're sticking out the back.
