You have to be 2g (6mm) to insert the weight and the actual wearable is 3g (5.5mm). 

These weights have a hinge mechanism and magnetic closure that allows for easy opening and closing. The opening is located in the center of the lower section at it's thickest point, and the hinge is located in the wearable area.
