I got these for my cheeks, and am thrilled. They're perfect. Once I figured out how to put the first o-ring on, the second was a breeze. These may be the most comfortable things I've put in my cheeks yet.

got as a retainer for tongue, considering how much I bite my tongue ring accidentally, would not wear unless I had to

Anytime I have to hide my tongue piercing, I wear this piece. It is comfortable and virtually invisible.

I have had retainers in the past and they have been plastic. I was going to start a new job and needed to buy retainers. I decided to try the glass retainer and to my surprise, it did not have the etching where the o-ring sits. I tried it on my day off and the tongue ring didn't fall out, so I was pleased. I typically wear retainers for the 5 days I am at work and then take them out but this tongue ring irritated the bottom of my tongue, so I didn't wore it two days in a row and took it out. I wore my other retainers and a few days ago decided to wear the glass retainer again. I planned on wearing it for the day and take it out that night but ended up eating it on accident. I didn't realize the hard crunch was my tongue ring. Usually it doesn't feel like I have anything in, so it wasn't until I went to take it out that night, I noticed it was gone. The crazy thing is I remember while I was snacking on popcorn, feeling this a crunch like shattered glass. I thought it was the kernel and ended up spitting it out in a napkin. I am shocked at how easy the glass was to chew. Luckily I didn't swallow the glass or at least not all of it. However, I think it is dangerous that the glass is that malleable. Since the tongue ring doesn't have a place for the o-ring to lock in place, it can easily come out. I think it is best to get the other retainers if you work a full-time job, where you eat lunch or snack on breaks. I find the flexible no-see-um barbells to be better. I also like the clear tongue retainer that looks like a barbell but all plastic.

These are a life saver as I was able to wear them during general anesthetic for surgery. They seem sturdy and high quality, and they make your piercing barely visible when needed!
