hinge is a little stiff but i'm sure it'll loosen up a bit with use, overall a pretty good quality ring

using for my lobes (8mm, 20g). quite tricky to close once they're in your piercings but otherwise fabulous! they fit well and are definitely made of quality material.

My 3-month-old nostril piercing is healing great with this in (better than the steel post I was pierced with.) FYI, I'm very sensitive to nickle but can tolerate implant-grade steel. However, I heal much better with g23 titanium. No irritation or problems since I put this in. No bumps either. The closed hinge has never caused pain or caught on my skin when it spins through the hole, which I was nervous about. It looks good but I think a smaller 20g will look better. I'm just using 18g until it's fully healed. Perfect 1/4" diameter fit. True to size. I had trouble getting this in due to inexperience. I finally got it in by inserting the hinged end into a piercing taper that is hollow at the back. At first I was trying to use a piercing taper for internally threaded jewelry but the hollow end of this ring wouldn't fit on the threaded 18g taper. I don't have a 20g taper so I flipped the ring around and tried an 18g taper for externally threaded jewelry. FYI, I inserted it from outside my nostril, not inside. I'm glad I bought my set of piercing tapers. It makes changing tiny jewelry soooo much easier and safer, and I don't have to visit my piercer for stupid stuff like this. The hinge is stiff so I loosened it a bit by working some of my jojoba oil into it and flipping it a few times. I sterilized it so that probably made it more stiff. Also, the ring wouldn't click closed in my nostril at first and I didn't want to traumatize my new piercing further so i didn't force it. Strangely, it clicked closed the next day, after I accidentally bumped my nose. My advice is to test the opening/closing before inserting it and make any adjustments you need first. Work your piercing lube/oil into the hinge ahead of time too. BAF has a video about adjusting clicker rings with jewelry pliers. Check out the links here or in their FAQ and blog. I didn't see that video until later.

The clicker definitely felt a bit scratchy going in, but once in place the ring has felt very secure and comfortable to wear!
